As I am very "meaning minded" I decided to search for the litteral meanings of summer. This is what my questing returned.
sum·mer1 n.
1. The usually warmest season of the year, occurring between spring and autumn and constituting June, July, and August in the Northern Hemisphere, or, as calculated astronomically, extending from the summer solstice to the autumnal equinox.
sum·mer2 n.
1. A heavy horizontal timber that serves as a supporting beam, especially for the floor above.
2. A lintel.
3. A large, heavy stone usually set on the top of a column or pilaster to support an arch or lintel.

Now you may be asking what all that has to do with my fractal. Well, luckily, instead of simply pointing things out, I will be playing a game with you. As you read this, refer to my pic, and see if you can spot my words in my visuals. Enjoy!
Summer, to me, represents heat. The blazing of the sun like a candle perched upon the darkness of an unseeable wick. But this candle also supports us, for without its light, our crops would perish and our planet would chill. So of course, the sun, and its archon, summer, is the center of our very existence.
But there are more earthly reasons as to why summer is grand. Three examples follow:
For one, there are always beautiful fireworks displays in the summer. Kaleidescopes of light whizzing through the dark that blast our retinas as we hope to imprint the shapes into our minds.
Secondly, for many, summer is the time of travel. A time when many roads lead to many exciting destinations. Whether by land, sea, or air, these roads all hold the promise of adventure.
Finally, and most importantly, summer is a time for friends to share smiles in the shining of the sun. A time to exalt at the freedom that it brings from the darkness of winter and the sleepiness of spring.
